CONSTITUTION OF STATE BENCHES OF THE GST APPELLATE TRIBUNAL

After a 7-years of post-GST implementation, the Ministry of Finance, issued Notification vide F. No. A-50050/150/2018-CESTAT-DoR, Department of Revenue, has officially declared the formation of State Benches for the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal in different Indian states and cities. The announcement was made on September 14, 2023. Total 31 benches have been announced.

The number of State Benches is determined for each state as per attached link specifying the state, the corresponding number of benches, and their respective locations.

IN GUJARAT 2 BENCH ARE CONSTITUTED. I.E, AHMEDABAD, SURAT AND RAJKOT

Note on Circuit Locations: The operations at the locations marked as 'Circuit' will be determined by the President, based on the number of appeals filed by suppliers in the respective states.

This marks a significant step towards streamlined dispute resolution in matters related to GST.
